How it works

FARM β†’ ROAST β†’ DOOREVERY MONTH

  • Always in-season, picked at peak harvest
  • Roasted at origin a few months after harvest to capture peak flavor
  • Packed and shipped the same week it’s roasted

Empowering Coffee Communities at Origin

When we roast at origin, more of the coffee’s value stays in the communities that grow it. Local roasting creates jobs, supports small producers, and keeps more profits where they belong: at the source.

Notes of Red Fruits, Plum, and a Chocolate Aftertaste

Martin Lopez Alvarado is a first-generation coffee producer in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. His farm, Buena Vista, gets its name from its high-altitude location on the local mountain. The elevation helps create conditions for high-quality coffee, but it also brings challenges, such as moving supplies up the mountain and transporting harvested coffee back down.

Today, Martin manages the farm alongside his family. They put great effort into the farm throughout the year, especially during harvest, when they make sure the cherries are picked only when ripe. This usually means three to four passes through the farm.

The farm and the coffee are deeply important to them, and Martin says they feel motivated to work in something they’re passionate about.
